Prayer

Tips for responding to prayer requests:

  • Be specific. Say “praying God’s protection/comfort/provision over you/your family” instead of “praying for you!” If you want to take a second to type out an actual prayer, even better! The more prayer the better on each prayer requested by our Church Family.

Things to keep in mind as an iCampus Volunteer…

  • Our online community is a community.

    • Remember, there are real people behind the screen names. Our goal is to make them feel just as loved and welcome as the people who show up to services in-person.

  • Things move quickly!

    • We suggest being in a distraction free environment. It only takes a few seconds to miss an opportunity to encourage someone with a comment. But don’t worry! There are other volunteers who have your back and will likely see a comment you may have missed. Team work makes the dream work!

  • You are the voice of New Hope Church.

    • Always point people to Jesus. Respond with compassion. Be mindful about inserting your own opinions and thoughts into a conversation. Always try to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

    • Keep it fun, but also professional. Watch your grammar and spelling. Typos happen, but remember that people can go back and read what you’ve typed. We want to keep it professional and minimize anything that can be misunderstood or misconstrued.

  • Your name is attached to your responses.

    • As an NHC volunteer, you are a representative of Christ. Not only do your comments matter, but your personal social media profiles are also a representation of you. Be aware of what you are posting and supporting on your personal accounts.

  • Communicate with us!

    • If you have questions or concerns, your Creative Communications team is here for you! We appreciate your help in making our online platforms as loving and welcoming as our buildings. You matter! Let us know if there is anything we can do to make your job easier!
